Japanese Red Maple (Acer Palmatum 'Twomblys Red Sentinel')

The Japanese Maple is a tree native to...well, Japan..It is a dense deciduous tree with a strong central leader and a narrowly upright and columnar growth habit. In its native habitat this tree can reach heights of up to 10 feet and spread out to around 6 feet. Properly cared for this tree can live well past 50 years old. This tree does best in filtered bright sunlight, an east or west facing wall is ideal location. Do not allow to completely dry out. Maples should be kept outdoors for at least 4 months of the year.

The Japanese Maple is highly sought after as a bonsai featuring a bright red leaves that slightly change throughout the year, ending in a reddish, orangish, fiery display in fall.
