Willow-leaf Fig | Ficus Nerifolia

Ficus Nerifolia, or the Willow-leaf fig, can reach heights of 30-50 feet in its natural habitat, boasting a wide, expansive canopy. This species, native to tropical regions of Asia and Australia, is popularly grown as an ornamental plant in warm areas due to its beautiful leaves and adaptability to various conditions.

Highly valued for its resilience to neglect, this bonsai is an ideal choice for novice growers.

Leaves: Ficus Nerifolia's dark green, lanceolate-shaped leaves grow in a unique, drooping habit that gives the tree its distinctive weeping appearance. The leaves may also display a hint of red when exposed to ample sunlight.

Flowers: Ficus Nerifolia produces figs rather than traditional flowers that are actually inverted flowers. Once fully grown, these figs are entirely edible.

Sun Requirement: Part shade-Full sun

Watering Requirements: Proper watering is crucial for Ficus Nerifolia to thrive. Ensure the soil is fully saturated, but avoid overwatering as this can cause root rot. Allow for a short dry period in between waterings.

Growth Rate: 8-24”/year

Ideal PH: 6.0-8.0
