The Chinese Pepper tree, otherwise referred to as Szechuan Pepper tree or wild lime, is a compact, citrus tree that can reach heights of up to 15 feet. One of its most notable features is its peppercorn, which can be utilized in the creation of a spicy sauce.
It belongs to the Rutaceae family and is indigenous to various regions in Asia, including China, Japan, Korea, and the Himalayas.
Leaves: The leaves are a bright green hue which deepens as they mature, giving off a glossy appearance. These paripinnate leaves range in size from roughly 1-2 inches.
Flowers: In the beginning of Spring, yellowish-white flowers will bloom in small clusters. Pepper trees are dioecious, meaning both a male and female plant are needed to produce peppercorns.

Watering Requirements: Keep the soil moist by thoroughly watering it to saturate the substrate. Make sure to water frequently and avoid over-watering, to prevent the root ball from drying out completely.
